Every year during the Christmas holiday season in Humboldt Country, California, hundreds of semi and lumber trucks, flatbeds, fire trucks, and the like spend hundreds of dollars each to string Christmas lights all over their trucks, create Christmas scenes on their trailers, and the like. Then they pay to parade in the Eureka Lighted Truck Parade just at dark. The entrants are judged and win awards, and proceeds go to charity.

Families make an evening and a holiday tradition of watching the dramatically lighted trucks go by, catching the candy thrown from them, and cheering for their favorite truckers or companies. Since Eureka is a lumber town, a truck parade is something that nearly everyone can participate in or cheer on.
