  • I have been composting actively for about four years now. I have a large compost pile on the back of the property. As well as grass clippings and leaves we put most of our household garbage in the heap. Most anything except for meat products go into the pile. We shred most of our paper trash and add that to the pile too. It's a little work, but it is really satisfying when you see the results.
